Vanishing Lubricant, Vanishing Oil-and Evaporative lubricant for Medium to Heavy Duty Metal working
Engineered exclusively for Aluminum, Copper, Copper alloys, Copper/Brass and Ferrous metals
INTRODUCTION:
Evap-Lube_6460 is a premium quality ,light to medium duty solvent based VANISHING OIL . Evap-Lube 6460 evaporative lubricant is specially engineered to be used for press or roll forming both ferrous and non ferrous metals, vanishing lubricant ant 6460 is designed for applications where an extremely thin residue is acceptable . It leaves an imperceptible film that allows a clean die release of thin(0.001 to 0.250) sheet or roll stock. Used for stranding aluminum wire. Contains an anti wear additive to increase die life.
It is a MEDIUM DUTY solvent based Vanishing Lubricant designed for those applications wherein minimal oil film is permissible. This product leaves a thin imperceptible film of lubricant that facilitates a clean die release of thin sheet or roll stock. Depending upon the temperature ,air circulation, and humidity evap-lube vanishing oil dries The carrier generally dries in one to four hours. Normally, cleaning is not required after using vanishing lubricant. 6460 vanishing oil reduces or eliminates most forming cleaning or degreasing prior to plating, painting .assembly or shipping.
Vanishing oil 6460 will virtually disappear - at pre-determined intervals - thus completely eliminating need for any further cleaning, degreasing, buffing or polishing prior to shipping in many operations.6460 specifically formulated for use in roll forming and press operations on pre finished and other specialty metals.6460 is a heavy duty grade in-tended for use in severe applications. It will provide better finish when forming heavier gauge metals or tougher alloys. 6460 is recommended for galvanized aluminum strip.
Evap-Lube 6460 is designed for use where a “vanishing Lubricant” is required. 6460 is a premium quality, high performance, clear, low viscosity metal working fluid. 6460 evaporates readily leaving little or no residual oils for optimum cleanliness during metal working operation, while still providing excellent release properties.
6460’s prompt evaporation characteristics results in the manufacture of clean components, which will readily accept welds, allow for adhesion of paint to processed parts and leave virtually no residue to react with other processing chemicals.
6460contains select additives to provide optimum lubricity during metal stamping and forming, resulting in extended die life. The product formulation obtains the important balance of proper lubrication during metalworking, yet “vanishes” from parts in minimal time to avoid delays in the manufacturing process, and minimizing the need for manual cleaning of components. 6460is non-corrosive and non-staining to aluminum, copper, steel and their alloys.
Vanishing oil 6460should be used in stamping operations to keep the tools cool and prevent wear.

APPLICATION :
6460 is designed primarily for use in light to light to moderate duty stamping and forming operations of ferrous and aluminum, copper and other non-ferrous metals, while still finding application in some light duty operations with ferrous metals. Its unique ability to provide “thin film” lubrication, then evaporate quickly leaving no residue, makes 6460an excellent choice for applications calling for the use of a “vanishing oil”. 6460can be applied by spraying or roller coating. 6460should always be used as received.
Vanishing oil 6460can be applied straight by spraying, dipping, brushing, flooding or roller coating methods. Caution should be taken when sprayed to not exceed the permissible exposure limits to oil mist.
TYPICAL USES :
Evap-Lube_6460 Can be used for Laminating ,blanking, light duty forming, radiator tank, header and fin forming, perforating, coining and other operations such as parts assembly where a residue free surface is required. Vanishing lubricant EvalplUBE_6460 can also be used on pre-coated stock.
Evap-Lube_6460 is used as received.
Note: 6460should be stored at temperatures between 65°F and 90°F to preserve its integrity. However, if residue on parts is going to be further dried in an oven, operating temperatures should be kept below 250°F to avoid decomposition.
Caution: Product contains solvent. Use mechanical ventilation and guard against open flames or other ignition sources.

TESTIMONIAL :
"Hello Walter, I would like to get some of this product to try. I have a job coming up that with about 14,000 lineal feet of bare galvanized. I need to get enough to do that at least. Thanks Craig"
"We used about 20 gallons on coils we ran, the product worked great. Thanks for your help, we'll order more from you in the future Thanks Craig"
B. I recently ordered a 1 gallon sample of
your Evap-Lube 6460 and it is exactly what I am
looking for. It works great for us. I had a
couple of questions regarding the product:
1) What are the quantities that I can order Evap-Lube
6460 in and what are the corresponding prices?
2) What are the HMIS ratings are for the
product? I did not see the ratings on the MSDS
sheet.
If we continue to use the product, we could
potentially use upwards of 1000 gallons per
year.
